So what this does is adds a little bit of field of view, makes it a lot easier to see into our blind spot and make us more confident going down the road when we are switching lanes or making turns. more

So the purpose of a towing mirror is to give you a better sense of where you are on the road, expanding your field of view. Right now I'm here in the factory mirror and if I walk over to my left, you'll slowly start to see me disappear from that factory mirror and then appear over in the towing mirror. So what it's doing is expanding our field of view out to the side and helping us see into our blind spot making things like turns, lane changes or backing up your trailer or camper a lot easier. more

These are going to be a really nice, affordable way to give you a little bit better visibility when you're going down the road, whether you're hauling a boat like we have here today, or a camper like we have back here. Anytime you have something at the back of your vehicle, it's a little bit more difficult to see around it, so especially when we're trying to change lanes or we're backing up, we want that wider field of view just for safer conditions because the factory mirrors that we have, they do a good job, but they're designed for your vehicle. So adding that extra width out there is going to be a much safer way of going about it.So here I am at the back of the trailer. You can see me just fine in the factory mirror, which is nice, but where I think these mirrors shine is when we're changing lanes. more

Today on our 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, we'll be installing the CIPA Custom Towing Mirror, part number CM10900. The CIPA Custom Towing Mirror is a sleek and stylish design to prevent vibrations and wind noise. It simply slides up and over the original manufacturer's mirror. Here, it has a manual mirror that can be adjusted up, down, in, or out as necessary to view your towing product. As you can see, its sturdy design won't move around even at highway speeds. Note it also does not interfere with the manufacturer's mirror, so viewing of the blinker or moving the mirror as necessary will not be obstructed. Now with our driver side installed, let's move over to the passenger side and install that one. Here we can see the grooves that will line up on the back side of the mirror and the front side simply slips into position. Then we'll take our wedge, slide it into the groove, and line up the portion here with the threaded portion of our mirror. more

Today on this 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe we're going to install part number 10901. This is Cipa's custom towing mirror for a driver's side. To start off our install we need to get our parts ready to go. We'll have to attach 2 pieces of foam to our part. 1 will be to a wedge which holds the mirror in place, and the other will actually go on the inside edge of the mirror itself. It's also a good idea to clean out the front of the mirror of any dirt and debris that if it's in the way before installing the mirror; that way, the paint won't get damaged by the grit. more

CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors Installation - 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe- Video
Today on this 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe were going to do a test fit of part number 10901 from Cipa. This is their custom towing mirror for the drivers side. Well start off our test fit by sliding on the new Cipa mirror over the factory mirror and well go out three quarters of the way. Then well take our wedge and put it between the Cipa mirror and the factory mirror. Then well push the two together. Well make sure that the towing mirror is fully seated onto the original mirror, and then well go ahead and install the locking knob. more
